  • In BC, non-profit organizations are known as societies. Societies are independent, democratic organizations that are required to comply with the Societies Act and their own constitution and bylaws. Having an active membership is an important piece to receiving funding from community gaming grants and for our status as a charity.

We are accountable to our members for our mission, activities, finances, accomplishments, and decision-making processes. Members are allowed to vote at our Annual General Meeting.

You can email info@goldenfoodbank.ca if you’d like to sign up for a membership!

  • Reliable access to sufficient quantity of affordable, nutritious food continues to be less attainable for many individuals and families in our community. Accessing food through grocery stores can be a challenge due to increasing costs, and extending the shelf life of food is a challenge if you don’t have the required equipment.

We’ve heard that people want more fresh, nutritous options, and finding ways to make locally-grown and produced food more accessible through the colder months is part of that!

  • You can bring cash or cheque to the food bank when you come to pick up the equipment, pay by e-transfer to info@goldenfoodbank.ca, or make your donation online on our CanadaHelps page.

  • Staff are at the food bank Monday to Thursday from 9AM to 5PM. You can return your rental during these hours. Please ensure the equipment is clean, all parts are accounted for, and it is packed in the manner you received it.

  • No problem! You can contact our Volunteer & Education Coordinator, Karen Temple-Beamish, at karen@goldenfoodbank.ca with any questions.
